Inchgower

Inchgower distillery was built in 1871 by the Wilson family to replace their Tochineal Distillery which was forced to close in 1870 when their rent was doubled. The move from Cullen to the coast meant that Inchgower could enjoy lower rent and the distillery and remained in the family until 1929. Following financial difficulties, it was acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1938. In 1987, Guinness merged Distillers Company with Arthur Bell & Sons to form United Distillers, leading to the Inchgower F&F release.
