Dailuaine

Dailuaine Distillery derives from the Gaelic dail uaine, meaning green valley. It is located between the foot of Ben Rinnes and the river Spey and was founded in 1852 by William Mackenzie, passing to his son Thomas following his death in 1865. Dailuaine Distillery was sold following the death of Thomas in 1915, and again to Distillers Company Limited in 1925. Distillers Company Limited was acquired by Guinness in 1986 and in 1987 was merged with Arthur Bell & Sons to form United Distillers, leading to the 1991 Dailuaine Flora & Fauna release.
