Blair Athol

Blair Athol Distillery was founded by John Steward and Robert Robertson in 1798. Originally named Aldour, after the Allt Dour Burn from which the distillery draws its water, the distillery has closed down, reopened and changed hands several times until it was acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons, reopening in 1949 having been closed since 1932. Arthur Bell & Sons would become United Distillers in 1987 leading to production of the Flora and Fauna bottling in 1991. Whilst Blair Athol is available as a single malt, it is primarily used to blend Bell’s whisky.
