Aultmore

Located in Keith, Banffshire, Aultmore Distillery was founded in 1897 by Alexander Edward. The name Aultmore is derived from the Gaelic t-Allt Mòr, meaning big burn in reference to the distillery’s water source Auchinderran burn.

The distillery changed hands several times and was acquired by Scottish Malt Distillers, a subsidiary of The Distillers Company, in 1930. The Distillers Company would becoming part of United Distillers in 1987 leading to the Aultmore Flora & Fauna release.

Aultmore Flora & Fauna was discontinued in 1998 following the sale of the distillery back to the now Bacardi-owned John Dewar & Sons Ltd, which had previously owned the distillery between 1923 and 1925.
