1997 Cask Strength Limited Release

Following the original 1991 Flora & Fauna release, a further limited bottling of 9 F&F whiskies was released in 1997. The whiskies, ranging from 14 to 17 years, were bottled at cask strength in 1997 in 70cl numbered bottles featuring black caps and presented with grey cartons.

Whisky writer Michael Jackson, who coined the ‘Flora and Fauna’ name, referred to this release as ‘Cask Strength Limited Bottling’ in his 4th Edition (1999) and subsequent editions of Malt Whisky Companion. However, whilst the label descriptions differ from the original release, the original F&F graphics remained. Consequently, the Flora and Flora name stuck and the 1997 release was widely accepted as part of the F&F collection.
