Label Description

Dufftown distillery was established near Dufftown at the end of the C19th. The bright flash of the KINGFISHER can often be seen over the DULLAN RIVER, which flows past the old stone buildings of the distillery on its way north to the SPEY. This single HIGHLAND MALT WHISKY is typically SPEYSIDE in character with a delicate, fragrant, almost flowery aroma and taste which lingers on the palate.

TypeSingle Malt Scotch Whisky

Miniature edition

A 5cl miniature edition of Dufftown was released in 1993 as a donation to the Dufftown and District Cancer Research Committee to celebrate 70 years of fundraising. The label features the Dufftown Flora and Fauna graphic. However, unlike the original Dufftown 70cl bottling, the miniature was bottled at 40% ABV and the label does not state an age. This is unlike the other F&F miniatures Aberfeldy, Blair Athol and Clynelish which are the same age and ABV as their 70cl counterparts. The Dufftown miniature is also presented in a different shaped bottle to the other F&F miniatures. These differences have lead to contradicting opinions, with some treating the Dufftown miniature as an additional F&F release and others concluding that it does not form part of the F&F collection at all. As the Dufftown miniature depicts the F&F graphic, we would at least argue that it would make a nice addition to an existing F&F collection.

From the label: ‘Donated by United Distillers to Dufftown and District Cancer Research Committee to celebrate 70 years fundraising’.

Valuation and Market Tracker

The valuation and market tracker uses historic auction hammer price data available in the public domain. Prices exclude associated fees such as buyer premium, shipping and insurance. Where sales have occurred in a non-GBP currency, an approximate conversion has been calculated based on the exchange rate at the time the sale took place. The tracker does not include unverifiable private sales. It is intended to be used as a market guide rather than a valuation tool.
