Label Description

The Broad Leaved Helleborine, a rare species of wild orchid, can be found growing in the anchient oak woodland behind the Bladnoch distillery. The most southerly in SCOTLAND, founded in the early 1800's, the distillery stands by the RIVER BLADNOCH near Wigtown. It produces a distinctive LOWLAND single MALT WHISKY - delicate and fruity with lemony aroma and taste.

TypeSingle Malt Scotch Whisky

Further information

Whisky writer Michael Jackson rated Bladnoch the highest of the original F&F whiskies and scored it equally to the 1997 Cask Strength release of Mortlach. Bladnoch Distillery was mothballed in 1993, but bottling of Bladnoch Flora and Fauna continued from stock until 2001, which is why its market price has remained lower than the releases of other similarly mothballed F&F distilleries.

We have found no evidence that the Bladnoch F&F was ever released with a cardboard carton.

Valuation and Market Tracker

The valuation and market tracker uses historic auction hammer price data available in the public domain. Prices exclude associated fees such as buyer premium, shipping and insurance. Where sales have occurred in a non-GBP currency, an approximate conversion has been calculated based on the exchange rate at the time the sale took place. The tracker does not include unverifiable private sales. It is intended to be used as a market guide rather than a valuation tool.
